EYESthere Watches Over Pennsylvania

Digital Security Company opens First of Four Locations in Pittsburgh

(Wexford, PA)---With more businesses and homeowners looking to take advantage of digital surveillance technology, the demand for new locations from innovators in the digital video security market grows.
The number of people interested in purchasing smart cameras has given EYESthere, a high-quality provider of turn-key, customized digital video security, the impetus to open its first location in Pennsylvania – the first of four locations planned by the end of 2008. Smart cameras not only increase safety but also act as a valuable tool for owners looking to increase efficiency and help them to manage their business more productively. The first location in the state will open on December 3rd at 12300 Perry Hwy. under the watchful eyes of Paul Patrick.

Patrick is no stranger to both the franchise and software communities. For approximately 20 years, Patrick worked for a variety of medical software companies including Siemens Medical Solutions, Misys Healthcare Systems and McKesson before giving in to the urge to own his own business and opening an Outdoor Lighting Perspectives franchise in 2003. Though he enjoyed the concept and the ability to be his own boss, Patrick decided to sell his business in early 2007 to blend his software background with his newfound entrepreneurial expertise.

“I had such a wonderful experience as an Outdoor Lighting Perspectives owner, but I wanted to move - towards a more high-tech, business-to-business venture,” said Patrick, 46. “EYESthere jumped out at me right away based on the concept alone but the more I learned about the company, the more impressed I became. The preparedness, knowledge and business savvy displayed at every level proved EYESthere had everything I was looking for in a business, and I am thrilled to be a part of their system.”

With two corporate-owned locations in Portland and Dallas, EYESthere launched its franchising program in March 2007. The company’s plans for the greater Pittsburgh area are in line with their goals for the rest of the country and include three additional locations by the end of 2008. EYESthere expects to have 210 locations in major markets throughout the country by 2010. There’s a vast opportunity awaiting: countless businesses across the country still rely on VCR tapes, low-quality cameras or off-the-shelf systems for their security needs. According to IMS Research, the world market for network video surveillance products increased by 41.9 percent in 2006 and by 2010 the market for such services is expected to exceed $2.6 billion.

The market for security systems has become gradually more competitive with locally owned, large regional and national chains vying for customers, but only EYESthere has a dedicated focus to be an original solutions provider of digital video security. EYESthere offers tools that make a business owner’s job easier and more efficient. Features include the ability to review entire days of recordings in minutes since cameras only record motion and offer high-speed point-and-click review. Live video is accessible 24/7 from any web browser or supported PDA. Full-service installs can be completed in days, and EYESthere includes 30- and 90-day performance tuning and support assistance.

Most competitors offer only a mixed bag of programs and services. But because EYESthere also focuses on improved employee and management productivity - it provides solutions that are used constantly to not only protect, but also empower a business.  Creative video uses include simple video conferencing, remote training options and reduced need for travel for business owners and managers.

EYESthere has identified 530 potential franchise markets throughout the country. Territories are determined by the number of households and/or businesses within a given Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), but generally equal about 500-700,000 in total population. Major metropolitan markets are capable of supporting multiple EYESthere franchises. The estimated initial investment for an EYESthere franchise ranges from $187,350 to $294,950, including a $45,000 franchise fee, which is reduced to $35,000 for each subsequent EYESthere territory. Though his territory of Allegheny, Butler and Beaver counties is considerable, Patrick is already hopeful about the future: he plans to open two additional locations – one in Pittsburgh and one in Erie – within the next two years.

“As technology continues to advance and peoples’ security needs change, many companies fail to update their offerings to accommodate the shift in the marketplace,” said Patrick. “With EYESthere, that will never be the case. We are always offering the most current, effective solutions out there and really listening to what our clients want and need. Every client is treated like part of our family from day one and we stick with them through thick and thin, regardless of what their needs may be.”
